Built like it's for
our own cats. Because it is.
Every Catwood piece is made by hand, from glue, wood and fabric we're happy to have in our own homes. Here's what goes into it.
Four things we
refuse to cut corners on.
Your cat sleeps on it, scratches it and leaps onto it at 3am. So we pick materials for them first, and for the price tag second.
-
01
E0 glue. Safe for noses, big and small.
Every joint is bonded with E0-grade glue, the strictest formaldehyde emission grade for wood glue and boards. Safe for you, safe for your cat, and nothing nasty off-gassing where they nap.
- 02
Treated before it is built.
We treat every piece before we put it together, so it is ready for years of naps, jumps and the odd zoomie.
-
03
Held on with premium velcro.
The bed fabric attaches with premium hook-and-loop strips. Firm enough to stay put through the zoomies, easy for you to peel off on laundry day.
-
04
100% handmade.
No assembly line. Every piece is cut, sanded, glued and finished by hand, then checked (tediously) before it ever leaves us.
Checked by hand.
Then checked again.
Handmade means every piece is a little bit unique. Our quality checks make sure "unique" never means wobbly, rough or loose.
- 1Edges and cornersSanded smooth and run over by hand. Nothing that catches fur, claws or fingers.
- 2Every glue jointInspected one by one. If it isn't solid, it goes back to the bench.
- 3Fabric and velcroSeams, fit and grip checked on every bed cushion before it's packed.
- 4The final once-overFinish, fit and fixings looked at one last time. "Nearly perfect" gets redone.
Headaches for the
Catwood team.
Doing it by hand is slow. Doing the checks properly is slower. Every "that's nearly perfect" gets redone, and yes, that gives us headaches. Your cat doesn't care about our deadlines, and honestly, neither should you.
